Matte Painting
The Weather Channel's exceptional creative team engaged me across multiple UI and advertising projects, demanding extensive iteration and diverse setup configurations.
Working in the pre-AI Photoshop era, I invested significant time crafting custom backgrounds and detailed matte paintings that provided compelling environments for their typography and advertising elements to inhabit. This foundational work established the atmospheric contexts their messaging required to resonate with audiences.

- 02 ELBOW GREASE
Photoshop Before Artificial Intelligence
In the pre-AI era, transforming simple car images into immersive environments - complete cities, snow-covered landscapes, and water elements - required meticulous matte painting craftsmanship. This deeply rewarding work demanded technical skill and artistic vision that I genuinely cherished. While AI's commoditization of this craft feels bittersweet, it simply redirects my creative energy toward discovering new disciplines that offer similar fulfillment and technical challenge.

Creation of the Asset Army
My Adobe Illustrator workflow reached peak intensity on this project - generating an impressive volume of vector assets that fueled our creative exploration. Once the team established clear direction, I hit my stride and produced a steady stream of refined vectors ready for iteration. The selections shown here represent just a fraction of the comprehensive asset library we developed for thorough creative review.
